In addition to traditional dispensing technology, screen printing is another well-known method for applying liquid thermal interface materials (TIMs). While dispensing technology is primarily used to process gap-filler liquids, screen printing is particularly well-suited for processing thermal conductive pastes or phase-change materials (PCMs).

To apply thermal interface compounds or PCM materials with precision,KERAFOL® also offers a screen printing service. For PCMs, the materials are heated to achieve a specific flow behavior and then applied using a custom screen to ensure the desired final thickness.KERAFOL® is also able to apply thermal interface materials to both sides of the end product using a special screen-printing process. Possible applications include covering electronic components such as thyristors or bonding semiconductors to ceramic or metal substrates. In terms of specifications,KERAFOL® can customize the amount of material per unit, as well as the size and shape of the screens. The final quality control is carried out with extreme precision, whereby the entire shape of the applied material is automatically measured, inspected, and recorded in accordance with the agreed-upon specifications.KERAFOL® also takes responsibility for the packaging design and ensures an appropriate logistics process to prevent contamination or smudging. The service ranges from prototyping to mass production.
