Glass solders are a special class of materials, which were developed to resist extreme conditions. They can withstand high temperature, they are gastight and chemically inert. For this reason they are used in high temperature fuel cell stacks as sealing. In this application the glass solder must resist oxidizing and reducing atmosphere, being electrically insulating and stand thermal cycling.
During an assembling procedure the glass solder crystallizes partially and forms a stable glass ceramic. Our glass is best suited for CFY (chromium – iron – yttrium), ferritic interconnectors, and for the assembling of steel/steel, steel/zirconia or zirconia/zirconia.
We offer the glass solder as tape or as paste for dispensing. The tapes are available in different thicknesses and can be cut to customer specific geometries. In addition to our own glass solder we can process provided powders to tapes or paste.
