Electrolyte Supported Cells for stack construction
With the scientific support of Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technology and Systems pastes were developed for electrolyte supported cells (MEA - Membrane Electrode Assembly) which are now produced at KERAFOL.
KERAFOL also offers symmetric cells and half cells.
For the cell production the following electrolyte substrates are available:
10Sc1CeSZ, 8YSZ, YScSZ and 3YSZ.
Cathode material: LaxSryMnO3
Anode material: NiO cermet
- Our electrolyte supported cells are usable in mobile and stationary applications and for stack application they:
have efficient electrodes with low polarization resistances - high ionic conductivity and power density
- high mechanical strength
- high planarity
- are long term stable
(long term stability report) - stable during multiple reduction/oxidation cycles (redox stability report) as well as thermo cycles (thermal cycling stability report)

standard dimensions of 50x50x0.15 mm³ and 100x100x0.15 mm³ but also a variety of squared, circular and rectangular geometries
as our customers desire.
